Consumer Rights Act 2015

Mirkwood Evans Vincent

The key provisions of the new Consumer Rights Act 2015 came into force on 1st October 2015. The Act clarifies a consumer’s rights when goods or digital content do not do what they said on the tin that they would do, or when services have not been provided with reasonable care and skill. It also sets out the new requirement under the Consumer ADR Regulations, which require traders to provide certain information to their customers about alternative dispute resolution procedures.

Rather than summarise the Act, I am pleased to be able to tell you that Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) has already put together a really handy overview of the key takeaways from the Act, which is a MUST READ for all businesses which trade with members of the public.
